Industry Deep Dive: Preparing for a Manufacturing Employment Renaissance

video

Check out the full presentation here!

There are concerted efforts underway to strengthen American manufacturing and innovation to create better-paying jobs and to bolster the nation’s economic and national security. For instance, the recently passed CHIPS and Science Act aims to increase domestic manufacturing of semiconductors including allocating billions of dollars to company incentives and for programs aimed at research and development and workforce development. However, manufacturers still face significant labor and supply chain challenges along with navigating the many technological changes and trends within the industry, dubbed Industry 4.0. From the LMI Institute’s Future of Work Summit, this presentation from Dr. Ned Hill explores key manufacturing trends that will continue to impact the employment outlook within this industry for years to come.
