Request for Nominations: BLS Technical Advisory Committee

The Bureau of Labor Statistics has published a request for nominations for its Technical Advisory Committee in the December 22 Federal Register.

BLS is addressing five member terms that expire on April 27, 2023, one current vacancy, and other additional vacancies that may occur on the TAC between December 22 and April 27, 2023.

Nominations for the TAC membership should be transmitted by January 23, 2023. Nominations for the TAC membership should be emailed to BLSTAC@bls.gov. Nominations are only being accepted through email as BLS is in maximum telework status pending its relocation to Suitland MD.

The Michigan LMI Office, the Center for Data and Analytics, won the 2022 LMI Award for State Product Supporting the Workforce System. This pre-recorded webinar features Nick Gandhi sharing about the winning project, Michigan’s Registered Apprenticeship Dashboard. The Dashboard was developed to highlight the most important registered apprenticeship data for external and internal partners across the state.

Aligning CTE Course Offerings with Local Business Needs – Upjohn Institute

The W.E. Upjohn Institute, an LMI Institute partner and affiliate member, worked on behalf of the Kalamazoo Regional Educational Service Agency and conducted two studies examining the current career and technical education (CTE) course offers and how they align with local businesses.
