- A session on what it takes to make enhanced wage records a reality, including the legislative and administrative steps involved at the state level
- A dedicated session on Workforce Pell, examining the role state data systems will play as employment outcomes become central to program eligibility and what states need to do to prepare
- A working lunch for directors to raise pressing issues from the field, with a follow-up session focused on sharing practical strategies and approaches
- A session on AI and LMI modernization, covering how states are beginning to use AI in their operations, considerations around responsible use in government data, and LMI’s role in helping the workforce system understand AI’s labor market impact
- An informal mixer for directors to connect across states

Congressional Research Service – Availability of Federal Data:
Policy Considerations for Disclosure, Preservaction and Governance

| <!– |
Considering ongoing efforts to track availability and maintain access to critical Federal data sources, the Congressional Research Service recently published a new report examining policy issues regarding the availability of Federal data. This includes a review of existing “statutory requirements for information dissemination, preservation, and whether and when information can be removed” and concludes by offering “policy options for Congress, including a review of efforts to preserve federal data through web captures; examining controls to assess data versioning, sourcing, and modifications; and, finally, considerations for implementing data governance and transparency mechanisms throughout agency structures.”
The report offers valuable insights for state agencies and other data users concerned with how, when, and why Federal data is made publicly available.

The Data Insights Roundtable series continues May 28th! Following our LMI modernization conversation in March, we wanted to hear from other state LMI agencies developing new approaches to state data infrastructure. For this Roundtable we will be joined by representatives from KYSTATS and the Michigan Center for Data and Analytics, who will discuss how their agencies are expanding access and understanding of LMI through greater inter-agency data sharing and integration.

Nevadaworks serves Northern and Central Nevada, one of the largest and most geographically diverse workforce regions in the country. To operate effectively, Nevadaworks has embedded labor market information (LMI) into the core of its service delivery model. Rather than existing as a standalone product, data is integrated into two primary system components: Industry Sector Partnerships, which convene employers to define workforce needs, and Regional Career Navigators, who translate those needs into actionable guidance for job seekers.
Nevadaworks’ approach to data is built on practices designed to improve over time. Each refinement, whether to a crosswalk, a dashboard, or an employer relationship, strengthens the system’s ability to direct resources where they are most needed.

Louisiana has a new Career Clusters Dashboard. This dashboard has two main pages, the first of which defines the clusters and provides data on different occupations that are within the cluster, including projected growth and annual openings, pathways into the cluster, top skills, and the median wage of the occupations. The second page shows job postings counts by salary, location, and education requirements, in each of the career clusters. This page also has a link to the Louisiana job search webpage, so workers can quickly take the information they learn from the dashboard and use it to find and apply for a job. This is a clever and helpful way to show how career skills can crossover between occupations and help expand the jobs a worker is looking for.
