Call for Proposals

The Council for Community and Economic Research (C2ER) and the Labor Market Information (LMI) Institute are currently soliciting proposals for the next annual conference and forum, which is currently planned to be a solely in-person event June 11 – 14, 2024 in Norfolk, VA. The theme this year is Norfolk 2024: Navigating Data for Economic Success. Below is information on this year’s conference and details on how to submit your proposal.

Breakout sessions and individual presentations are a key component to the success of our conference. They enable our attendees to share, learn, converse, and interact with one another on topics of mutual interest and compare research methods, data collection practices, visualization tools, and lessons learned in the field. We invite members and non-members to submit session proposals by Friday, October 20, 2023.

Theme

The C2ER Annual Conference + LMI Institute Annual Forum theme for 2024 is Navigating Data for Economic Success – inspired by Norfolk’s port city aesthetic. We want to know what have been some of the successes or roadblocks in gathering, processing, and disseminating data? We are interested in learning about the development of data methodology and the utilization of data to approach today’s community, workforce, or economic issues. What problem in your community was prevalent? What was your experience in rising to the occasion and navigating through the problem-solving process to achieve success?

About the Conference/Forum

The conference includes a variety of keynote and plenary speakers and roundtables to offer world class networking and the opportunity to see community and economic development in action.
